Delicious Recipes To Help Detox & De-Bloat

Stomach issues aren’t exactly the sexiest topics to talk about, but we think they’re worth discussing. At one time or another, every one of us has to deal with some type of intestinal malfunction. Maybe you have chronic IBS or maybe you just indulged a bit too much and are paying for it, but either way the results are usually the same: bloating, cramps, gas, and a general blah feeling.

When your gut is out of whack, the result can be more widespread than just your pants feeling tight. Studies have shown that when your intestinal microbiome is unbalanced, it can lead to other health issues like inflammatory skin conditions (hi acne and eczema), obesity, and even chronic diseases.

Which is why keeping your stomach supplied with a steady diet of beneficial probiotics, prebiotics, and gut-health promoting foods is kind of a good idea. One great way to do that is with supplements that have proven benefits for your digestive wellbeing. One of our favorites is Nue Co.’s Debloat Food + Prebiotic.

This bestseller is a supercharged powder that’s made up of a bloat-fighting (and scientifically supported) blend of organic ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, maqui fruit, and prebiotic inulin (derived from chicory). Together they help to quickly relieve bloating and cramping, decrease IBS symptoms, and reduce gas retention.

Since it’s not chalky or gritty, getting your fix is as easy as dropping a teaspoon of Debloat Food into your daily smoothie or yogurt. However, for those times when you are smoothied out (it happens to the best of us), there are some other equally delicious, non-blender options you can try. We asked brand founder Jules Miller to share two yummy ways she and the rest of Nue Co. HQ get their daily dose of Debloat. Keep reading for her simple (and tasty!) recipes.

Debloat Latte

Serves 1

-1 cup of oat or almond milk, heated

-1 tsp The Nue Co. Debloat Food + Prebiotic

-1 tbsp coconut butter

-1 tbsp or less of honey or agave, to taste

-1/2 tsp black pepper, ground

Our signature beverage, the Debloat Latte is the comforting, gut-friendly drink you’ve been looking for. Make this on days when you need a relief after a filling meal, or take daily for consistent digestive benefits such as reductions in stomach pain,  bloating, and flatulence. Use a non-dairy milk of your choosing and agave to make it vegan, or use regular milk and honey.

Directions: Heat the milk and incoporate in Debloat Food using either a milk frother or a whisk until smooth. Add in the coconut butter and either honey or agave, and whisk or froth until completely combined. Top with fresh ground pepper.

For those that like their lattes a bit more traditional, swap out the cup of milk and replace with your usual java. Add in a splash of milk after you’ve poured it in your mug, if you want your drink a little creamier.

Debloat Tonic

Serves 1

-1 tsp The Nue Co. Debloat Food + Prebiotic

-1 tbsp or less of honey or agave, to taste

-1 cup of hot water

-1 lemon wedge

Our Debloat Tonic is like a non-alcoholic hot toddy that your gut will love. Made with our signature Debloat Food + Prebiotic powder, the ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon give it a warming, spicy kick. Make as needed for instant bloating relief or take daily for long-term gut health benefits.

Directions: Whisk together 1 tbsp of the hot water and Debloat Food + Prebiotic in the base of your mug, until the powder dissolves. Stir in the agave. Fill the cup up the rest of the way with remaining hot water. Squeeze the lemon wedge into the cup directly, then stir. Serve immediately.
