Jessica’s Favorite Multi-Tasking Products
We love a product that does it all. Whether it be for travel, throw-in-your-bag ease, or minimalists who like to keep a tightly edited beauty bag, multi-tasking products make life easier. Here, our founder Jessica Richards explains how some of her favorite skin, body and makeup essentials work overtime to defy categories.
MDO Multi-Benefit Skin Tint
This skin tint boasts SPF, seamless coverage and skincare ingredients like vitamin A, hyaluronic acid and salicylic acid that keeps pores unclogged. MDO founder Dr. Simon Ourian compares the lightweight formula to an instagram filter in a bottle. “I use it when I want medium coverage,” describes Jess. “It leaves my skin hydrated and even.”
C & The Moon Malibu Made Body Scrub
A vanilla scented mix of brown sugar, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, and jojoba seed oil, this scrub is good enough to eat. Sugar crystals slough off dead, flaky skin while the luscious blend of oils leaves Jess’ skin so soft, she doesn’t need to use a moisturizer after.
Dr. Barbara Sturm Glow Drops
“These illuminating drops make skin glow under any foundation and have skincare ingredients to help with overall radiance,” Jess explains. Skin tone is evened over time thanks to wild rose extract and polygonum bistorta root while purslane calms skin and hyaluronic acid replenishes thirsty skin. Optical pigments reflect light so that worn alone or under foundation, as Jess does, skin is given and immediate glowing effect.
Róen Cheeky Blush
Monochromatic makeup has an effortless, youthful vibe that we love, and this cream blush from Roen is the perfect medium. “I wear it to brighten my complexion and dab it on my lips for a touch of pigment,” says Jess. Go bold by brushing the moisturizing, cake-free formula lightly over lids as well.
Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick
Jess throws this stick in her bag for when she needs a little touch-up during the day but it works as an overall foundation too, especially when buffed out with the brand’s foundation brush. For sensitive skin condition sufferers, it is packed with nourishing ingredients like squalane, camellia seed oil and berryflux vita extract that improve skin as its worn.
Doctor Rogers Restore Healing Balm
This dermatologist-created balm was made especially for post-procedure skin. “I coat on a thick layer after dermaplaning because it keeps away bacteria,” explains Jess. “But It can be used everywhere - lips, nails, cuticles, and skin, and especially on my kids because of its clean formula.” We like to think of it as a Swiss Army knife of skincare.
